Imagine walking alone down an endless pathway, with only pain and emotional suffering as you continue the search for happiness and comfort that you hope to find with friends. When I came to Canada, leaving behind my friends and family, I became very lonely because I never knew anyone, and was ignored by my peers. I would just stay buried into computer games and slowly but surely, I was becoming a depressed "potato couch". Loneliness depressed me because it made me jealous of people who werent lonely, made me sad, and therefore, made me lose my confidence.

Loneliness made me jealous of people who werent lonely because I thought that I didnt deserve this kind of cruel treatment. I pictured myself as a very kind, caring and loving person and it came to me as a shock when people didnt recognize that right away. As I walked down the street desperately hunting for friends, I saw three friends going to the movies. Seeing this, I remembered the good old days when my friends and I used to go an hour early for the movies and just play pool or laze around. When we went for the movie, we would annoy the audience by screaming out nasty comments before being kicked out of the cinema. Is shed a tear, but quickly wiped it away so that people wouldnt think that I was "weak". Jealousy roared within me like hot lava waiting to erupt. I envied everyone around me, including myother who has been here for just a couple of months more than me, but already has a whole heap of friends. While wandering in the park alone, I had an outburst of anger, and started screaming at God, asking him what I had done to deserve this harsh treatment. It wasnt my fault that I was shy and reserved, but I kept my faith in him, although I felt that it was hopeless. Jealousy took over my world and my soul, leading to sadness.

Loneliness made me sad because I felt like I was all alone in this world, with no one caring about me. I felt like I was an ant lying in the middle of the vast desert, with nothing but land surrounding me. Sometimes I just felt like ending this miserable life, but I was reassured when I remembered the fact that I have migrated several times in life and at first, it was as horrible as this. Jealousy led to sadness, because after a period of time, I felt pathetic and was ashamed of envying other people. Therefore, I tried to hide from loneliness, not realizing that I was only getting pulled into the dark and isolated world of loneliness.

College Essays on The Emotion of Loneliness

Loneliness made me lose my confidence, because I found it harder to approach people and introduce myself, or even talk to people that I already knew. I lost confidence because I was scared that people would think that I was a sore loser and feel pity for me. Sadness lead to a loss in confidence, because the sadder I got, the more I would cry and lose self esteem. When I was writing an essay in class about loneliness, everyone started telling me that I should be able to write a lot about loneliness since I have been lonely, and that I dont have any friends. This made it even worse for me, and my confidence was on a down hill roll.

Loneliness made me jealous of people who werent lonely, it made me sad, and hence, made me lose my confidence. The more you try to run away from loneliness, the more you get absorbed by it. Loneliness comes like rain. It can be stormy or mild, but eventually it fades away, leaving you with sunshine of friends that wipe out darkness.

Family First The plays Antigone and A Dolls House show us that throughout history there continues to be an internal struggle between moral and social values. When we look at the major characters of these plays; Antigone, Nora, Creon and Torvald we see how real this struggle is. Antigone and Nora must make decisions that go against what is socially acceptable. Antigone goes against a law set forth by King Creon, and Noraeaks the law with forgery. Each achieve personal satisfaction over their problems although their victories are far from the same. Antigones decision causes her imprisonment and death while Noras decision gives her freedom and a new life. Both Antigone and Nora put their family first in their decisions.

Antigone agonizes over the death of her twoothers. Oneother who fought for Creon was buried with full military honors while the otherother is left to rot in the sun because he was against Creon. Antigone believes the latterother deserved a proper burial and puts her life in danger to do so. Nora forges her fathers signature to obtain a loan, from a man named Krogstad, that she uses to save her husbands life. Because of her forgery, she has gone against the law, and has compromised her husbands position at work. We are shown that Creon and Torvald are both rulers, Creon the king of Theban, and Torvald; his home. In Antigones society the king makes the rules that everyone is

Burke

to follow, although in Creons case, he makes a law that some would consider socially unacceptable . In Noras society women are to be good wives and take care of their children and obey their husband.

There comes a point in each womans life when she must make a decision that will change her life forever. Antigones decision is based on her belief in religion, in burying herother and her love for him. Nora decides to leave her husband and children and go off on her own. They are both justified in sacrificing themselves for their family. Antigone believed that without a proper burial herothers soul would wander aimlessly without a place to go. Creon goes against Antigones god and refuses to allow herother to be buried and creates an edict that will cost Antigone her life if she is to go against it. Antigone would rather go against Creon then to go against her religion. Nora overhears Torvald speaking on how children must pay for their parents mistakes. When confronted by Krogstad she discovers that forging her fathers signature was a "mistake." Later, Torvald and Nora are in a heated argument about the forged signature and how it will ruin Torvalds career. Nora then sees Torvald as an arrogant, selfish man who truly cares only about himself. During the argument, Nora begins to understand their marriage; she has not been a wife, but instead was a doll in a dolls house, just as she had been in her fathers house. It is at this point that she realizes that she doesnt love Torvald. Because of the belief system at that time, she believes that her children might pay for her mistakes just as her friend Dr. Rank is suffering from his fathers mistakes. Putting everything together she announces to Torvald that she must leave. He cannot understand how she could neglect her most sacred duties to her husband and children. But Nora stands up for herself and tells him she has other sacred duties and these are to herself.

The men, Creon and Torvald are both hurt by their egotistical views and their stringent emphasis on their position of authority. Both men worry about what society will think about them, when it sees the affects of the action of the women. Creon is worried that he will look weak if he allows Antigones defiance to go unpunished. Torvald is worried that Noras crime will cause him his career, instead of how they can remedy the situation. Neither man has the guts to swallow his pride, apologize and try to set things right, instead, when they realize how stupid they have been it is too late. Antigone dies in her prison by hanging herself, and Nora has walked out of Torvalds life.

The sad thing is that more than just these four are affected. Creons son has killed himself because he loved Antigone, and then his wife stabs herself because she has lost her son. Torvalds children will go without a mother because of his stubbornness. Antigone and Nora both love their family. Nora realizes that she must leave her family in order to save her children. Antigone realizes she must die to save herothers soul. They have both gone against what would have been the norms of society. Antigone wasought up to obey the laws set by the king, but these laws also go against what is morally correct, in that everyone deserves to be buried. She sets theses laws aside for the deep love of herother. Nora defies her society by leaving her husband and children in order to discover herself and become more independent.

Ironically, the moral dilemma we see each woman in is very much the same in todays society. Mans dominance over woman has been an age old struggle. While women today have the ability to go off on their own and live their own life, many believe that a womans place is in the home under the rule of the husband or under the laws of men. What struck me the most is that men Creon and Torvald failed to see that love runs deep and that family always comes first.

Sellecks presence in his stage debut is as formidable as on TV and movie screens. Selleck fans will adore him even more in person; fans of Herb Gardners A Thousand Clowns will be comparing him to Jason Robards, who played the lead onoadway in 16 and on film. The experience of the revivals stellar supporting cast reflect the demands on Selleck of transitioning from other media to stage. The star needs the opportunity to refine his technique during preview runs.

John Rando(Director), who molded the New York stage debuts of John Ritter and Henry Winkler in Neil Simons The Dinner Party, maximizes Sellecks strengths. The actors casual, chummy style fits too nicely sometimes on the role of social cynic writer Murray Burns, who flip-flops on whether to sacrifice his cynicism to get a job, or give up his live-in nephew to child welfare. Once Selleck, who delivers spark and sex appeal masters the nuances of emacing a role onstage and establishing rapport with a live audience, his and the plays fans can have it all.

Improvements should come in timing among the cast in delivering Gardners tight and somewhat updated script. Minor but intrusive flaws in using props need correcting so heads are not banged on the window leading to the apartment fire escape. Doors need to open with ease and stay shut when closed. The presentation being put together is exciting and fun.

College Essays on A Thousand Clowns

Nicholas King, as precocious nephew Nick, is an endearing scene stealer. Nick is more adult in many ways than Murray, whose boyish ways charm conflicted social worker Sandra (Barbara Garrick). Murray wrestles with whether to return to work as a writer for Leo (Mark Blum) on Chuckles, a TV show for children. Murray created the shows character three years earlier when he wrote that a chipmunk is nothing but a cute rat. Leos comic schizophrenia, as presented by Blum, hilariously dominates the third act.

adford Cover amusingly portrays Sandras co-worker and timid admirer, the overly serious Albert Amundson. Arnold Burns, who plays Robert Lupone, is Murraysother and agent, the stuffed shirt with a soft heart.

The one room apartment set by Allen Moyer is charmingly cluttered, but Nicks alcove is neat Its adaptable for Sandras makeover, which is undone by Murray tossing pillows and bedcovers across the room.

The plays schmaltzy appeal nearly 40 years ago as a family-oriented romantic comedy runs counter to the current culture of the theatrical world. Producers are hoping its uniqueness in the current environment will be its strength but Sellecks presence is a stronger bet.

"What is art?" it is an expression that teaches people and those of the past. Each culture and historic time has their own definition of what art is. Each culture creates its own ideals for how art should look.

The Circle of Bliss Buddhist Meditation art has introduced the religious concepts of the Buddhism. It is start by Shakyamuni in sixth century b.c. There are a three diverse significant of Buddhist figures, Shakyamunis, Buddhist teachers and Indian and Himalayan ascetic. Each figure represents an exacting religion. This exhibition is a key for the different religious of Himalayan Buddhism. It identifies and illustrates the protectors and benefactor of Himalayan Buddhism. The great architect that they achieve was very impressive. It will show the deep of the mediation that the Buddhism practices and the luxury they have it. There are many temples in different place and the first one is the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo (61-64).

The composition was focusing on one a main idea is the meditation; it talks about how this religion start and the different step that improve and make this religion know. It starts by a prince of Nepal Siddhartha Gautama. After many years of intense and mediation he achieved the enlightenment. The artist will describe the different step of the enlightenment and how he achieves it. They will show since the Nepal of Siddhartha tell the present. As same as in the renaissance, where the artist back at the time was focusing on one main story is the life of the Madonna and Jesus. It start from the development of Jesus tell his death. Each artist at the time shared a growing esteem for the individual and a vital enthusiasm for classical ancient times. At the time they where trying there best to show the dimension of nature on a flat surface.

The colors that have been used are the green, bleu yellow, and white. Each color symbolizes different meaning. It symbolize the five sense of human been and the five elements of life. The artists used thesis color to describe the emotion, purity and the different stage of life. The green is a gesture symbol and elements of water and sense of taste. Red symbols the meditation and lust and the sense is smell. Yellow is the fire, and sense of hearing. The bleu is the air and sense of touch. And finally the white is considering as space.

The lighting that have been used in the Museum was same the colors green, white, yellow, red and bleu. The lighting was notight enough; it was as simple as life is. It will just prepare you for the next step, or what this room is going to talk about.

This museum was very interesting. I already know about the Buddhism and I known their concept, but after I went to this exhibition I found that I do not know anything. Art is really a encyclopedia where the artists will be the master to the knowledge. Art is an emotion, where the artist will involve with all his or her sentiments. I learn how to respect other arts, but understanding their concept. I do not know if there is a good or bad art! I do not know what art mean, because it has different mean for everyone. As for me art is everything, it is the only way that I could express what I want or what I need from this life without saying anything. It is just an expression, it is my freedom, it is my own world.

Order your Lost Innocence paper at affordable prices! In the late 1th and early 0th centuries Europe was undeniably approaching World War I. Sir Edward Grey was quoted as saying, "The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see them lit again in our lifetime." This quote is directly related to Erich Maria Remarques book, All Quiet on the Western Front. The characters in this novel, as well as all other young World War I soldiers, represent the lamps in Greys statement. The young men that fought for their countries in World War I were a metaphor of a desperate European society as well as a lost youthfulness caused by the trials and tribulations of war.

Sir Edward Grey made the statement, "The lamps are going out all over Europe." When he said this, theitish Prime minister was using lamps to represent the purity of the generation that was involved in the war. That generation of young men around 0 years of age would be forever corrupted by the horror of war. Their childlike demeanor was forever lost and they were transformed into humans who had witnessed what no 0 year old should. Lamps are often associated with light and light is used to represent new thoughts and ideas. Light is a symbol of progress and passion, something lost for the soldiers in the First World War. This is shown in the novel when Paul and Muller appear to care more about Kemmerichs boots than the fact that he is dead. It appears their emotions are depleted. When they discuss "peace-time" it seems so far out of their reach, so unobtainable.

Sir Edward Grey was correct when he said that he would never be able to witness the lamps being lit again. It was too large of an endeavor for the shell-shocked soldiers to regain their innocence. It was an impossible task to rid their minds of what they saw on the battlefields. Theirains would be forever trained to treat death and destruction as just all part of life.

Paul Baumer and all the soldiers of World War I are a metaphor for European society in the late 1th and early 0th centuries because they lived in desperation. All of Europe was looking for something to believe in just as the soldiers needed something to believe in on the battlefield. Society was neglecting the middle class values and religion and turning towards power by the strong and irrationalism. This attitude had to be implemented in the war by the soldiers.
