In 18 the aero and space market in the United Kingdom was estimated to be £1.6 billion, contributing over ten percent of the UK manufacturing gross domestic product and two percent of the entire GDP. The bulk of the industry lies in military sales, which amounts to almost half of the product sales of the aviation market. Military sales have helped companies likeitish Aerospace (BAE) systems, and Rolls Royce become amongst the UKs largest exporters. The aerospace industry has remained strong in difficult periods through the nineties when there were large defence cutbacks and civil airline cancellations. However, it has been the technical excellence and market positioning that has allowed companies like Rolls Royce to widen the capacity of sales, through associations and relationships with traditional rivals and gained entry into new global markets. This has resulted in the UK industry gaining many domestic and foreign contracts for civil and military defence sales.

For the purpose of this project the definition of the aerospace industry is focused on and includes the sale of aircraft components, parts and engines, refurbishment work, and all after market services. The refurbishments and after market services are often included in company turnover because they are considered future cash flows. It excludes the systems that support avionics such as air and ground controls, their electronics and the electrical systems on board aircrafts.

Rolls Royce has positioned itself as the worlds second largest aircraft maker, closely behind General Electric (GE), but no less a technological leader in the aerospace, marine, and energy sectors of the industry. Throughout recent years the company has built aoader base growing through acquisitions and the expansion of its ample product range. Success has been attributed to the ability to accurately recognize the requirements of world markets and provide outstanding customer and product life support.

The Rolls Royce aerospace business makes gas turbine engines for both military and commercial aircraft worldwide. These customers include armed forces, commercial airlines and corporations who use jets, helicopters, and other aircraft. Rolls Royce is one of the largest makers of marine propulsion systems and both constructs and installs power generation systems, but what many of us know Rolls Royce for are its luxury automobiles. Professional writers help on BAE Systems essays Theitish company established in 106 by Charles Rolls and engineer Henry Royce, had their first unveiling of a car named the Silver Ghost, which earned the makers the title of the best car in the world. Although their primary focus was automobiles, they began producing aircraft engines in 114 used in the aircrafts of the First World War. These engines were used in a number of historically important flights and in 11 the Rolls Royce engines set records for speed on land, in air, and by sea. The finest line of automobile today came through the acquisition of the Bentley Company in 1. It continued to produce engines that powered the fighters of the Second World War. Over the years it has been a pioneer in the aerospace market with its design of the jet engine, turboprop, turbofan, and vertical takeoff engine.

In 176 the company penetrated the commercial market of the United States, gaining a presence when it acquired one of its competitorsistol Siddley, and with it came the contract for the Anglo-French Concorde.

LAPD chief wants more in-the-field activity from detectives, who make up 0% of police work force yet account for only % of arrests.

By Andrew Blankstein and Richard Winton

Online writing services offer help on Desk Jockeys to Crime Fighters Fictional police detective Sgt. Joe Friday roamed Los Angeles streets at all hours of the day and night, an aggressive, hard-boiled investigator who stopped at nothing to solve crimes and arrest bad guys.

In the real Los Angeles Police Department, detectives make up 0% of the work force, but accounted for less than % of arrests last year, according to department officials.

LAPD Chief William J.atton, an unabashed fan of the original television series Dragnet, wants to change all that, and more.

Since he took office five months ago, atton said he has been surprised to find many police divisions have one or two overnight detectives, despite the fact that most violent crime occurs between 10 p.m. Friday and a.m. Monday.

atton found detectives who spent more time during the day behind an office desk than on the streets.

I was amazed that its daytime and there are 50 or 60 people jammed in a room, he said. I just didnt get the sense that there was a lot of in-the-field activity.

Many LAPD detectives do not contact victims until days after the crime. Many do not see suspects until well after an arrest, and are likely to be in the office before the morning commute and out ahead of the afternoon rush hour.

The result, atton said, is a force dependent on patrol officers to make arrests and solve crimes. And if that is the case, he said, were in trouble for the fact that black and whites had almost no time to deal with crime. Were constantly dealing with 11 calls.

atton is laying the groundwork for a major overhaul of the detective squads. By the time the makeover is complete, he expects detectives to be slapping cuffs on suspects, intensively covering nights and weekends, and taking part in all interrogations.

Departmentass has not addressed those issues for many years because they had stopped asking the key question -- why? -- said Cmdr. James McMurray, a former detective heading up an internal review of detective deployment.

Its a great question, McMurray said. And eventually, after youve done it the same way after years, you stop asking that question.

The review has concluded that the LAPDs 1,500 detectives are overly specialized, isolated from the rest of the department, and often not concentrated where crime happens, said Patrick Harnett, a consultant studying the issue.

A former high-ranking New York City police official and veteran detective, Harnett said that the LAPD also has turned many of its investigators into glorified paper pushers, who review files to make things easier for prosecutors but leave the crime fighting to others.

The job of detectives has shifted away from searching for people who have not been arrested yet, Harnett said.

He said most cases dont require the expertise of detectives, whose prime objective should be to go after the predator kind of cases, where a suspect continues to commit crimes until they are forced to stop.

Police union President Bob Baker saidattons reforms are overdue and achievable under the current union contract, even if it means putting more detectives on night and weekend duty.

But he worries that chronic personnel shortages will adversely effect those plans.

Theres a real simple issue here, Baker said. Theres 7 detectives in each division, and when you factor in vacation and days off, you end up with about 1 to . So, when you look at their workload and start looking to move bodies to nights, something has got to give.

Mike Thrasher, a supervisor who oversees homicide and gang investigations in the LAPDs Hollywood Division, said his detectives work daytime hours because thats when criminalists and prosecutors are on the job.

This is not an LAPD problem, Thrasher said. This is a California justice system problem.

Shifting more investigations to uniformed patrol officers could also be problematic, he said, because it could take officers off the streets as they build a case. McMurray said the concerns are valid, and he is exploring ways to reduce paperwork and streamline the handoff of cases to prosecutors.

The ultimate result of the changes, atton said, will be to give detectives a larger role in the department.

Part of the problem, McMurray said, is that since the 170s, the department separated the detectives from the rest of the command structure, which inhibited movement in the ranks.

The result is that few top-ranking officials have detective experience, and there is nobody to champion their cause.

Thats whyatton said he will name a deputy chief in charge of detectives in the coming weeks, the first time such a position has existed at the LAPD in decades.

Detectives in this department dont have the same stature, atton said. In New York, they would kill you to get the gold badge.

The deployment issues wont be settled completely until after the Compstat crime-tracking system --attons major innovation -- comes on line later this month.

The staffing had better be where the crime is,atton said.

Imagine walking alone down an endless pathway, with only pain and emotional suffering as you continue the search for happiness and comfort that you hope to find with friends. When I came to Canada, leaving behind my friends and family, I became very lonely because I never knew anyone, and was ignored by my peers. I would just stay buried into computer games and slowly but surely, I was becoming a depressed "potato couch". Loneliness depressed me because it made me jealous of people who werent lonely, made me sad, and therefore, made me lose my confidence.

Loneliness made me jealous of people who werent lonely because I thought that I didnt deserve this kind of cruel treatment. I pictured myself as a very kind, caring and loving person and it came to me as a shock when people didnt recognize that right away. As I walked down the street desperately hunting for friends, I saw three friends going to the movies. Seeing this, I remembered the good old days when my friends and I used to go an hour early for the movies and just play pool or laze around. When we went for the movie, we would annoy the audience by screaming out nasty comments before being kicked out of the cinema. Is shed a tear, but quickly wiped it away so that people wouldnt think that I was "weak". Jealousy roared within me like hot lava waiting to erupt. I envied everyone around me, including myother who has been here for just a couple of months more than me, but already has a whole heap of friends. While wandering in the park alone, I had an outburst of anger, and started screaming at God, asking him what I had done to deserve this harsh treatment. It wasnt my fault that I was shy and reserved, but I kept my faith in him, although I felt that it was hopeless. Jealousy took over my world and my soul, leading to sadness.

Loneliness made me sad because I felt like I was all alone in this world, with no one caring about me. I felt like I was an ant lying in the middle of the vast desert, with nothing but land surrounding me. Sometimes I just felt like ending this miserable life, but I was reassured when I remembered the fact that I have migrated several times in life and at first, it was as horrible as this. Jealousy led to sadness, because after a period of time, I felt pathetic and was ashamed of envying other people. Therefore, I tried to hide from loneliness, not realizing that I was only getting pulled into the dark and isolated world of loneliness.

College Essays on The Emotion of Loneliness

Loneliness made me lose my confidence, because I found it harder to approach people and introduce myself, or even talk to people that I already knew. I lost confidence because I was scared that people would think that I was a sore loser and feel pity for me. Sadness lead to a loss in confidence, because the sadder I got, the more I would cry and lose self esteem. When I was writing an essay in class about loneliness, everyone started telling me that I should be able to write a lot about loneliness since I have been lonely, and that I dont have any friends. This made it even worse for me, and my confidence was on a down hill roll.

Loneliness made me jealous of people who werent lonely, it made me sad, and hence, made me lose my confidence. The more you try to run away from loneliness, the more you get absorbed by it. Loneliness comes like rain. It can be stormy or mild, but eventually it fades away, leaving you with sunshine of friends that wipe out darkness.

Family First The plays Antigone and A Dolls House show us that throughout history there continues to be an internal struggle between moral and social values. When we look at the major characters of these plays; Antigone, Nora, Creon and Torvald we see how real this struggle is. Antigone and Nora must make decisions that go against what is socially acceptable. Antigone goes against a law set forth by King Creon, and Noraeaks the law with forgery. Each achieve personal satisfaction over their problems although their victories are far from the same. Antigones decision causes her imprisonment and death while Noras decision gives her freedom and a new life. Both Antigone and Nora put their family first in their decisions.

Antigone agonizes over the death of her twoothers. Oneother who fought for Creon was buried with full military honors while the otherother is left to rot in the sun because he was against Creon. Antigone believes the latterother deserved a proper burial and puts her life in danger to do so. Nora forges her fathers signature to obtain a loan, from a man named Krogstad, that she uses to save her husbands life. Because of her forgery, she has gone against the law, and has compromised her husbands position at work. We are shown that Creon and Torvald are both rulers, Creon the king of Theban, and Torvald; his home. In Antigones society the king makes the rules that everyone is

Burke

to follow, although in Creons case, he makes a law that some would consider socially unacceptable . In Noras society women are to be good wives and take care of their children and obey their husband.

There comes a point in each womans life when she must make a decision that will change her life forever. Antigones decision is based on her belief in religion, in burying herother and her love for him. Nora decides to leave her husband and children and go off on her own. They are both justified in sacrificing themselves for their family. Antigone believed that without a proper burial herothers soul would wander aimlessly without a place to go. Creon goes against Antigones god and refuses to allow herother to be buried and creates an edict that will cost Antigone her life if she is to go against it. Antigone would rather go against Creon then to go against her religion. Nora overhears Torvald speaking on how children must pay for their parents mistakes. When confronted by Krogstad she discovers that forging her fathers signature was a "mistake." Later, Torvald and Nora are in a heated argument about the forged signature and how it will ruin Torvalds career. Nora then sees Torvald as an arrogant, selfish man who truly cares only about himself. During the argument, Nora begins to understand their marriage; she has not been a wife, but instead was a doll in a dolls house, just as she had been in her fathers house. It is at this point that she realizes that she doesnt love Torvald. Because of the belief system at that time, she believes that her children might pay for her mistakes just as her friend Dr. Rank is suffering from his fathers mistakes. Putting everything together she announces to Torvald that she must leave. He cannot understand how she could neglect her most sacred duties to her husband and children. But Nora stands up for herself and tells him she has other sacred duties and these are to herself.

The men, Creon and Torvald are both hurt by their egotistical views and their stringent emphasis on their position of authority. Both men worry about what society will think about them, when it sees the affects of the action of the women. Creon is worried that he will look weak if he allows Antigones defiance to go unpunished. Torvald is worried that Noras crime will cause him his career, instead of how they can remedy the situation. Neither man has the guts to swallow his pride, apologize and try to set things right, instead, when they realize how stupid they have been it is too late. Antigone dies in her prison by hanging herself, and Nora has walked out of Torvalds life.

The sad thing is that more than just these four are affected. Creons son has killed himself because he loved Antigone, and then his wife stabs herself because she has lost her son. Torvalds children will go without a mother because of his stubbornness. Antigone and Nora both love their family. Nora realizes that she must leave her family in order to save her children. Antigone realizes she must die to save herothers soul. They have both gone against what would have been the norms of society. Antigone wasought up to obey the laws set by the king, but these laws also go against what is morally correct, in that everyone deserves to be buried. She sets theses laws aside for the deep love of herother. Nora defies her society by leaving her husband and children in order to discover herself and become more independent.

Ironically, the moral dilemma we see each woman in is very much the same in todays society. Mans dominance over woman has been an age old struggle. While women today have the ability to go off on their own and live their own life, many believe that a womans place is in the home under the rule of the husband or under the laws of men. What struck me the most is that men Creon and Torvald failed to see that love runs deep and that family always comes first.

Sellecks presence in his stage debut is as formidable as on TV and movie screens. Selleck fans will adore him even more in person; fans of Herb Gardners A Thousand Clowns will be comparing him to Jason Robards, who played the lead onoadway in 16 and on film. The experience of the revivals stellar supporting cast reflect the demands on Selleck of transitioning from other media to stage. The star needs the opportunity to refine his technique during preview runs.

John Rando(Director), who molded the New York stage debuts of John Ritter and Henry Winkler in Neil Simons The Dinner Party, maximizes Sellecks strengths. The actors casual, chummy style fits too nicely sometimes on the role of social cynic writer Murray Burns, who flip-flops on whether to sacrifice his cynicism to get a job, or give up his live-in nephew to child welfare. Once Selleck, who delivers spark and sex appeal masters the nuances of emacing a role onstage and establishing rapport with a live audience, his and the plays fans can have it all.

Improvements should come in timing among the cast in delivering Gardners tight and somewhat updated script. Minor but intrusive flaws in using props need correcting so heads are not banged on the window leading to the apartment fire escape. Doors need to open with ease and stay shut when closed. The presentation being put together is exciting and fun.

College Essays on A Thousand Clowns

Nicholas King, as precocious nephew Nick, is an endearing scene stealer. Nick is more adult in many ways than Murray, whose boyish ways charm conflicted social worker Sandra (Barbara Garrick). Murray wrestles with whether to return to work as a writer for Leo (Mark Blum) on Chuckles, a TV show for children. Murray created the shows character three years earlier when he wrote that a chipmunk is nothing but a cute rat. Leos comic schizophrenia, as presented by Blum, hilariously dominates the third act.

adford Cover amusingly portrays Sandras co-worker and timid admirer, the overly serious Albert Amundson. Arnold Burns, who plays Robert Lupone, is Murraysother and agent, the stuffed shirt with a soft heart.

The one room apartment set by Allen Moyer is charmingly cluttered, but Nicks alcove is neat Its adaptable for Sandras makeover, which is undone by Murray tossing pillows and bedcovers across the room.

The plays schmaltzy appeal nearly 40 years ago as a family-oriented romantic comedy runs counter to the current culture of the theatrical world. Producers are hoping its uniqueness in the current environment will be its strength but Sellecks presence is a stronger bet.

"What is art?" it is an expression that teaches people and those of the past. Each culture and historic time has their own definition of what art is. Each culture creates its own ideals for how art should look.

The Circle of Bliss Buddhist Meditation art has introduced the religious concepts of the Buddhism. It is start by Shakyamuni in sixth century b.c. There are a three diverse significant of Buddhist figures, Shakyamunis, Buddhist teachers and Indian and Himalayan ascetic. Each figure represents an exacting religion. This exhibition is a key for the different religious of Himalayan Buddhism. It identifies and illustrates the protectors and benefactor of Himalayan Buddhism. The great architect that they achieve was very impressive. It will show the deep of the mediation that the Buddhism practices and the luxury they have it. There are many temples in different place and the first one is the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo (61-64).

The composition was focusing on one a main idea is the meditation; it talks about how this religion start and the different step that improve and make this religion know. It starts by a prince of Nepal Siddhartha Gautama. After many years of intense and mediation he achieved the enlightenment. The artist will describe the different step of the enlightenment and how he achieves it. They will show since the Nepal of Siddhartha tell the present. As same as in the renaissance, where the artist back at the time was focusing on one main story is the life of the Madonna and Jesus. It start from the development of Jesus tell his death. Each artist at the time shared a growing esteem for the individual and a vital enthusiasm for classical ancient times. At the time they where trying there best to show the dimension of nature on a flat surface.

The colors that have been used are the green, bleu yellow, and white. Each color symbolizes different meaning. It symbolize the five sense of human been and the five elements of life. The artists used thesis color to describe the emotion, purity and the different stage of life. The green is a gesture symbol and elements of water and sense of taste. Red symbols the meditation and lust and the sense is smell. Yellow is the fire, and sense of hearing. The bleu is the air and sense of touch. And finally the white is considering as space.

The lighting that have been used in the Museum was same the colors green, white, yellow, red and bleu. The lighting was notight enough; it was as simple as life is. It will just prepare you for the next step, or what this room is going to talk about.

This museum was very interesting. I already know about the Buddhism and I known their concept, but after I went to this exhibition I found that I do not know anything. Art is really a encyclopedia where the artists will be the master to the knowledge. Art is an emotion, where the artist will involve with all his or her sentiments. I learn how to respect other arts, but understanding their concept. I do not know if there is a good or bad art! I do not know what art mean, because it has different mean for everyone. As for me art is everything, it is the only way that I could express what I want or what I need from this life without saying anything. It is just an expression, it is my freedom, it is my own world.

Sir Edward Grey was quoted as saying, "The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see them lit again in our lifetime." This quote is directly related to Erich Maria Remarques book, All Quiet on the Western Front. The characters in this novel, as well as all other young World War I soldiers, represent the lamps in Greys statement. The young men that fought for their countries in World War I were a metaphor of a desperate European society as well as a lost youthfulness caused by the trials and tribulations of war.

Sir Edward Grey made the statement, "The lamps are going out all over Europe." When he said this, theitish Prime minister was using lamps to represent the purity of the generation that was involved in the war. That generation of young men around 0 years of age would be forever corrupted by the horror of war. Their childlike demeanor was forever lost and they were transformed into humans who had witnessed what no 0 year old should. Lamps are often associated with light and light is used to represent new thoughts and ideas. Light is a symbol of progress and passion, something lost for the soldiers in the First World War. This is shown in the novel when Paul and Muller appear to care more about Kemmerichs boots than the fact that he is dead. It appears their emotions are depleted. When they discuss "peace-time" it seems so far out of their reach, so unobtainable.

Sir Edward Grey was correct when he said that he would never be able to witness the lamps being lit again. It was too large of an endeavor for the shell-shocked soldiers to regain their innocence. It was an impossible task to rid their minds of what they saw on the battlefields. Theirains would be forever trained to treat death and destruction as just all part of life.

Paul Baumer and all the soldiers of World War I are a metaphor for European society in the late 1th and early 0th centuries because they lived in desperation. All of Europe was looking for something to believe in just as the soldiers needed something to believe in on the battlefield. Society was neglecting the middle class values and religion and turning towards power by the strong and irrationalism. This attitude had to be implemented in the war by the soldiers.

In the prime of their life, 0 year old soldiers were taught to destroy all that they were supposed to be passionate about at their age. They had to destroy human life and feelings and emotions. This forever changed their generation. The dismay and terror of

World War I extinguished the lamps of a young generation. Their innocence and virtue would be distorted for the rest of their lives.

I am proficient in engineering power systems and possess a strong working knowledge of Bellcore and other standards. I have great communication and teamwork skills and feel I have a lot to offer as a part of a team.Do you have any questions? (Usually asked by the interviewer at the end of the interview.)Yes, I do. The author has to make the reader keep reading the story and keep them interested. To do this, things such as tension should be used. The tension should sometimes be maintained throughout the whole story, so the reader wants to know whats going to happen, but it can also stop for a while, then be built up again to suprise the reader. Order your filipinos paper at affordable prices! The American Journal of Physical Anthropology is the official journal of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists. From volume 10, number in Feuary 00, an article that struck me because of its relevance to my heritage was entitled "Genetic Diversity of JC Virus in the Modern Filipino Population Implications for the Peopling of the Philippines."

The country of the Philippines is believed by many to have been created by various different groups of people who happened to migrate from countries and places nearby. In order to examine this further, scientists used the JC virus (JCV) genotyping approach. The two islands that were tested were Luzon and Cebu, in which fifty urine samples from each island were represented. Furthermore, DNA from each of the urine samples was extracted and used to amplify the region of the viral syndrome. Scientists determined about twenty sequences for each island. The predominant genotype detected happened to be SC, or the Southeast Asian genotype. There were also minor JCV genotypes detected in the Philippines only, as well as genotypes that were detected previously in mainland China, Taiwan, and Pamalican Island. In conclusion, these findings imply that the modern Filipino population was formed by not only the Southeast Asians that carried the predominant genotype SC, but it also was formed by a few distinct ethnic groups nearby.

I personally found this article to be very appealing and interesting because of my family heritage and background. My parents are both from the Philippines, particularly Manila. I have traveled there one time only when I was about seven or eight years old, and I thought that everyone that I encountered looked fairly the same. My prior beliefs about the peopling of the Philippines was that people did migrate there from nearby countries, but also that Spanish conquerors came there and took over the land. My last name, "de Guzman," is of Spanish ancestry.

In addition, I thought that the tests and examinations that they conducted were not thorough enough to generalize a whole country. The Philippines is a country which consists of over 7000 islands and it is divided into three different sections. Out of these 7000 islands, they only chose two in which they only used fifty urine samples from each. The urine donors belonged to the two most predominant linguistic groups in the Philippines, Tagalog and Cebuano, which I thought to be very clever in the scientists methodologies. Being the two most dominant linguistic groups, this in turn means that they and their ancestors have probably been there on the islands of the Philippines the longest. The presentation and comprehensiveness of the material was somewhat confusing, but I managed to figure it out after reading over the article a few times. The writing style was very difficult to understand because of all of the letters and numbers, and not to mention the tremendous amount of technical terms. A lot of the references in the text were referring to figures that were also difficult to understand.

I felt that this article had much relevance to this course, Introduction to Biological Anthropology. One of the videos that we watched in class was all about DNA and everything having to do with DNA. This study that was conducted with Filipinos of two islands also had to do with DNA, specifically through the urine samples and through the genetic sequences. The term "genotype" was also a recurring word that appeared throughout the article, and which we studied about in class as being a persons genetic makeup.

As a result, I found this article from the academic journal American Journal of Physical Anthropology to be very relevant and important to not only the class and class discussions, but also to my life and heritage. My parents have always tried to raise me and inform me about our family and our background as much as they were able to. Now, after thoroughly reading this article, I will perhaps be able to inform them of something that they maybe do not know already!

I have wondered for many years what event prompts decay of people as they age; its as if their soul departs, leaving only a withered body and fading shadow of what was once a viant spirit. Favourite relatives can no longer remember your name, and do not even lift their eyes from the floor as theyood inwardly over some unknown subject. Although once eager to seep in each detail of interest, they now fall into troubled sleep. A sharp memory no longer recalls words communicated the previous minute.

And I have found that the truth lies not in the loss of memory, but in a sense of detachment from the present time, the loss of inseparable companions and ultimately the will to live. And one event above all others summons this change their removal to a nursing home, or some other care centre. I find those very adjectives faintly ironic, as the very atmosphere is one that banishes all energy and resolve from the patients heart. Existence in it, however, further works to remove all sense of dignity and independence, to humble and to humiliate until all resistance to this is dissipated.

This I have witnessed on multiple occasions, and has led me to form strong opinions on the importance of a approach to healing that focuses not solely on the physical condition of patients, but more so on their outlook and attitude to their circumstances. Watching loved ones being fed by spoons or through plastic tumblers is hearteaking, as I watch seemingly invincible characters reduced to infants with these actions. A sense of pride is essential to the spirit of man, yet how this possibly be retained when these people are fed with plastic spoons, pulpy food oozing down the faded patterns on cheap nylon bibs? It is not that people become totally incapable, it is their final acceptance of what they are told constantly by those around them, which renders them hopelessly inept in all things.

Write a research paper on (every) day "Dont be silly Maggie, of course you cant walk, youll have another fall."

It seems unlikely that she will make future steps when entrapped by this all encompassing web of doubt and negativity, which leads to self-doubt and a feeling of hopelessness. This is one of the things that make me dread visiting the Gran whom I love greatly.

Before entering the building, I first type in a code, making me feel like I am going into prison and wanting to turn back. I feel trapped. And once inside, I am met with a pungent odour of urine and disinfectant. I can taste death, but walking on I pass the dining room where a few souls sit round a table, turned in their wheeled- chairs to face each other, yet completely separate in thought and existence. On the opposite side of the corridor, a mass of bodies stare at a quiz show, hearing the words without actually listening to them. Each room identical, the patients contained in them are in various stages of succumbing to the inevitable. They will alleak anyway.

A man scrapes along the passageway ahead, his Zimmer frame seemingly in resistance to his attempt to live freely. I imagine that this long aisle is the stairwell to heaven, then dismiss the thought. I dont believe that a god would let these scenes take place. The home appears like a stopping place before death anyway, a kind of link between life and passing away, but I realise that it could with work be a pleasant time instead of the Hell that has been created for them. I move on into my Grans room. She is sleeping as always, perhaps dreaming of the past, but it is obvious to me that some of her old spirit still remains intact, and it is frustrating for me to be unable to rekindle this flame, which would surely drive the demons away. She stirs, and I call to her softly, and she opens her eyes without looking up. Searching for her glasses, I hear Kilroy through the cheap hardboard walls and still the smell lingers.eathing through my mouth only makes me nauseous. I ask her how she is feeling, and she replies

"When am I going home?"

For a while I tried to explain to her what has happened, but she forgets, so now I just tell her something to make her feel better. A pang of conscience hits me, but I assure myself that its her happiness is more important than truth. Shell have completely forgotten soon anyway.

"Soon, this is just a place for you to have a rest. This is like a hotel, so you can just put your feet up and relax."

"Have I paid for this?"

"Yes, its all under control, you dont think that wed let you away with that, do you?"

She allows herself a faint chuckle at this and I can sense a resurgence of her past zest. Slowly, though it fades. Subsequently, Agnes peers round the door before scuttling off. She steals things, putting them in her drawer, perhaps in defiance of the system, and it is her who I see as the sole survivor after being put in here. Or maybe she has just gone crazy, but I like her for that.

And then Gran starts again.

"Will I be here for long?"

I remain patient, but it is hard to watch her inner struggle against a demon waiting for her cease clinging to hope and life. But this is just another visit, with the same smell, the same walls, the same sounds, the same questions and the same people. Something must change, I tell myself. But its the same, always the same.

Order your jim morrison paper at affordable prices! How exactly did James Douglas Morrison influence the music world today? An examination of James Douglas Morrisons music and books will be discussed here and how he influenced music today from his first hit song with The Doors to his last blues album.

James Douglas Morrison was born on December 8, 14 in Melbourne, Florida near Cape Canaveral. He led an unusual life from the start because at six months his father left only to return three years later in midsummer of 146. His father, Steve Morrison, was a U.S. naval commander; which caused him to move and leave home numerous times. While Steve was away on various missions Clara Clarke, Jims mother, was forced to take care of Jim with the help of Steves grandparents. In those three years the family followed such rules as children should be seen and not heard, ignore something unpleasant and it will go away, and cleanliness is next to godliness. By the age of four Jim had a sister named Anne and would soon have aother, Andy, that would suffer the same traumatic mobility. Once one the road to Albuquerque Jim experienced the moment that he later described as "the most important moment of my life." Steve passed an overturned truck with injured and dying Pueblo Indians scattered on the asphalt, Jim would later describe this scene in false detail to his friends. Jim loved drawing attention to him and did so byeaking regulations. He stopped going to music lessons, stopped attending family functions, and he began to read viciously. It was like he had become a whole different person.

Jim usually wore leather pants and a T-shirt and leather pants on stage, hence the name the Leather Demon. Jim and the band The Doors made six albums The Doors, Strange Days, Waiting for the Sun, The Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel, and L.A. Women. In these six albums the band produced three No. 1 hits.

The Doors were somewhat of an abnormality in the rock panheons. In their heyday they werent folk or jazz and while some rock critics called their music acid rock they werent part of the peace-and-love Airplane-Dead-Quicksilver acid-rock sound of San Francisco. They had nothing in common with the English invasion, or even pop music in general. They were a league apart from the Velvet Underground, despite a mutual affinity for dark and somber themes. They werent even part of the folk-rock scene which dominated Los Angeles in those days, in the music of the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and the like. Even among the hierarchy that includes Elvis, Joplin, and Hendrix, they were a world unto themselves.

Essay service for your jim morrison paper Although Jim always claimed he was single and didnt have a wife, there were two women that announced their love for him. Patricia and Pamela, both lovers of Jim, claim to be his wife. Pamela Courson marriage was the only official marriage and ended up getting the estate after Jims death. Jim had no offspring but Patricia said she had an abortion on Jims command. Jim died sometime after midnight, Saturday, July , 171 in Paris. No autopsy was conducted because they wanted to leave him "alone". Friends said Jim died in "peace and dignity."

Jim told to journalist "A Doors concert is a public meeting called by us for a special dramatic discussion. When we perform, were participating in the creation of a world and we celeate that with the crowd." Once, Jim stated "I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star, everyone stops, points up and gasps Oh, look at that. Then, whoosh, Im gone, and theyll never see anything like it ever again. And they wont be able to forget me - ever. Xanooks remarked by replying "Jim Morrison expired in the chilling waters of a Paris bathtub. He was bloated and bearded; his career in freefall; his bloodstream awash with booze and heroin. Whoosh indeed."

James Douglas Morrison was something different from all the flower-wearing people known as the hippies. He pushed all personal boundaries and knew no limits and death was just another exploration. Jim was two people, the passionate and impassioned singer and the quiet, gifted young poet of the page. He was the Lizard King, and on the other side he was James Douglas Morrison. George MacDonald once said

Death alone from death can save.

Love is death, and so isave.

Love can fill the deepest grave.

Love loves on beneath the wave.

Jims poetry and songs proved to stand-alone even after death because they hit you like a giant wave. He his loved by many.

Out staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Analysis of "Suicide's Note", therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Analysis of "Suicide's Note" paper at affordable prices! "Suicides Note" is unusually short in length, containing only twelve

words. However, the reader must look beyond the simplicity and reveal what

underlies each word. The author, Langston Hughes, felt no need for

complications. The message is deliverediefly, but successfully. Suicide is an escape from undesirable circumstances and emotions.

The entire poem is an emotional coloring of the speakers desires. He

wants to be calmed, cooled, and emaced. The river invites him to indulge

in each desire for eternity. It will provide a joyful death away from his

dreadful life.

There is no need for drama in order to successfully deliver the purpose

to readers. Instead, the author chooses other methods of writing as valuable

means for achieving his purpose. He uses tone, sound repetition, careful

choice of diction, and personification to render it.

The title, "Suicides Note," sets a tone all on its own, but it alters to a

slighter tone when readers get to the second word, "calm." Langston Hughes

does not want the darkness of suicide to surface at all in this poem. Quite on

the contrary, he wishes to construct a peaceful and mellow state of mind.

Since suicide is thought of as tragic and final, his poised play on words

ings readers to an understanding the speakers desire is to convey that

what he is doing is very appropriate.

Most people are fearful at the thought of death, but fear is eliminated

as readers enter into the tranquil words. Each word has been chosen

carefully. The speaker is suggesting that his life is lacking or opposite of

each word presented. Hughes begins with the adjective, "calm," to describe

the river. He is implying that the speaker must be agitated, or more simply,

anything but calm. The word is set alone in the first line of the poem to

emphasize its significance to the speaker. Next, the author offers the word

"cool" in the second line. "Cool" proposes several ideas to readers. The

speaker may be hot with frustrations about his life. On the other hand, it

could be a hot day outside whichings on a craving for chilled water. Since

suicide is very emotional, readers probably fix on the first idea offered.

Regardless, the author is still indicating opposing characteristics between the

speaker and the river. These two adjectives, "calm" and "cool," are essential to the poem.

Langston Hughes also chooses nouns mindfully. "Face" is the first

indication of personification in "Suicides Note." He lets readers know that

the river shows expression. This is an appropriate way of showing that the

speaker wants the river to communicate an invitation to him. He needs

comfort and support, which he probably doesnt get otherwise.

The use of imagery takes part in holding the poem together. The

words used to describe the river are appealing to the senses and satisfy an

internal sensation. Sound repetition also plays a role in creating the beauty

of this imagery. The repeated "k" sound may be recognized by some readers.

"Calm," "cool," and "kiss" make a lovely sound when read aloud. Again, the

author succeeds ininging on a soothing feeling.

Furthermore, the authors choice of diction and use of imagery, personification, and

sound repetition, each play a huge part in the need to ponder beneath the surface of each

word. Simplicity is often misjudged at a glance in poetry. Although short in length and

absent of big words, this poem is an excellent piece to study in depth. It makes an excellent

conversation piece among readers. So many thoughts can be drawn from so few words.

It is very rare that someone now days can escape getting a speeding ticket. Although some people do, I was not one of these lucky people.

There are many factors that could cause one to get a speeding ticket like being in a hurry, not paying attention, fooling around, or you could be racing someone. None of these were the case for me when I got my speeding ticket. I was leaving school one day with one of my friends when I turned right off of 0th street onto Grand Avenue. I had gotten about a bock down Grand when an Ames patrol car made a U-turn and pulled me over. I asked him what I did wrong and he said that I was going 58 in a 5. I was pretty surprised and told him that I couldnt have because I just turned off of 0th street and that I wouldnt of had enough time to get up to that speed. I told him to check his radar gun again but he insisted that it said 58 m/hr.. The worst part of it was that the ticket cost $. I wasnt about to let him give what I thought was a undeserved citation. I ended up taking it to court and losing horribly because it was his word against mine and since he is a police officer and I was just some punk 16 year old kid.

And there you have it. That is how you loose $ just like that. So if you like your money dont speed or dont get seen when you do. The cause was speeding and the effect was loosing almost 100 big ones.

During this time, according to the four women, many men were being were being shipped off to war and many important jobs were being left behind that needed to be filled. Many factories and still mills desperately needed labors to construct military machinery and the only possible solution at that time was to have women enter into the workforce. The media posted ads and ran commercials on televisions as a means to recruit women into the workforce. The ads and commercials conveyed the message that women can do their part in the war by taking on the jobs that the men have left behind and that America needs their help. The factories were also made to look attractive to the women, which was done by putting their own showers and lockers inside the factories. Although watching tv can be a source of information and recreation, it caning a lot of problems to the families. First of all, watching tv, children can learn violence and violen ways to express their aggression. children want to imitate the violence they watch on tv. unfortunately, todays programs offer fantstic sights and impossibilities that are not real, such as people flying in the air. as a result, children dont want to watch the old -fashioned cartoons, such as the flinstones; they want to watch famous cartoons, such as power ranger and pokemon. These cartoons onlu offers fights, unreal thing, beautiful and magical guns, etc.

secondly, todays families are separated because when they have some time free, they want to spend this time watching tv. for example, families want to watch tv when they eat dinner or some other meal. parents and children dont want to lose any program. a familys evening reunion is different from a long time ago because instead of everybody talking, they have the the tv on. They think that tv is part of them. When i get home, the first thing that i relax is by turning on the tv. Another obstacle to family union/unity that is not appropriate for the family is watching tv while the students are doing their homework. July 10, 00 College papers on go between child Its hard to remember what it was like to have my mother and father in the same

room for than five minutes. My parents have been divorced for eight years now. If you

asked anyone who knew them they would probably say it had been over for many years

before that. My mother would go further and just say, "Man, hes been an ass to me right

from the start.cheated on, lied to, taken for granted, and its always just been me and the

kids wherever we go. Hes never around, that piece of shit!"

She was the one who was perpetually let down, and she sure let my father know

with who, with what, when, where at, and why he was a disappointment to her. It was

just about the only kind of interaction she enjoyed with him. My mother a very strong,

loud, hotheaded. I mean red-headed, scary (to some people), doesnt put up with

anything type of person was playing the"victim." My mother was always a teacher when

she wasnt a stay-at-home mom. There was no escaping her; she was there in the

morning, after school, weekends, vacations, plus all summer long. The word privacy

didnt even exist in her house much less respecting it. Plus, she wasnt the one to go have

dinner with friends or even call them to talk; therefore, I was the one she vented to

regularly, responsible to actually listen to this caddy drama, and try to make some sense

out of it to explain it to her. I would get so angry at her sometimes for the role of

confidant simply because I see my father differently for issues that didnt have to come to

my attention. Curious as to what her intent in the first place.

I was Daddys little girl, "Wheres my Princess?" he would say, walking in at

505 p.m. from work. I remember because for a couple of years I was the only child, so I

would be waiting for him. My father a very hard worker, strong, kind of stubborn, also

liked to yell to get his point across was just tired, I think. He worked outside in the sun

from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Entex Gas a company that his sister works in the office for and

that his father retired from years earlier. Im sure he had fun there…all day. Then on

some nights and all weekends he would go referee sports ranging from the little league

baseball, high school basketball, to Texas A&I University Football. It kept him away

from home a lot, but you can tell he really loved to go do it. Im positive he didnt work

nights just so my mom and I could go buy whatever we wanted, even though that was his

explanation whenever mother wanted to start nagging him about being home more often.

My favorite memory is every morning when I was 5 years old we would cuddle up in our

rocking chair that we barely could move once you sat, but still loved. We would sit and

watch "The Transformers" cartoon and then "The Bozo Show" every morning.

Afterwards, he would walk me across the street to school and stay until I got inside.

Funny thing is that occasionally he would sprint to his work truck as if something were

wrong. I didnt know why then, but know thinking about it because even though he knew

he was late he would not hurt me so he would still stay to see me in. A year later my

other was born; and instantly I became just his daughter, and the father-son bond

began, and grew stronger by the minute. It added to the feud that was just between

parents and made it mother and daughter vs. father and son. On one occasion my parents

argument had somehow spiraled and my father locked himself in the hallway bathroom

with myother. Apparently my mother threatened to leave, again. Sobbing my father

just keeps saying, Youre not taking my son away from me!! Youre not! NOT MY

SON!!! I was sitting in my doorway at the end of the hallway and probably wouldnt

have noticed what exactly he was saying until my mother yelled back at my father at the

top her lungs," You have a daughter too asshole, what about her?" He replied, "its too

late for her. I know I already fucked up with her, she hates me. I still have him."

Considering I was ten I thought that was just the stupidest thing I have heard still to this

day. Made me realize that myother and I just werent ammo they had to use against

each other, but that is how my father really felt about me. It is still taking time to

understand why they continued the battle for so long. Once it was final. Myother and

I were shocked. We never truly believed it would happen.

I have become a parent myself recently , and as I am now understanding how hard

it is to be in a relationship no matter the circumstances. Ive heard my mothers voice of

anger or jealousy come out of my mouth. Im not surprised. I just hope

Almost everyone who owns a computer for the first time is afraid to use it. I was afraid myself because I didnt know how to use one. Of course, computers also do not go out of their way helping you on how to use it. A computer can do a number of different things; in addition, they can produce information, numbers, images, sounds, and movies.

Hardware and Software are two separate terms that you need to know. You cannot have one of these without the other; for example, it would be like macaroni without cheese or lighting without thunder. Hardware is the physical part of a computer such as anything you can touch or see. For instance, there is the monitor, the Television like unit where you observe text and images. The keyboard is a unit that produces data, and the mouse that you can use as a companion to the keyboard. The mouse, a small tool with at least one button on it, controls a pointer or cursor on the screen to enable you to drag certain items or folders on your desktop. The Central Processing Unit, also known as the CPU, is the main computer box that contains holes to let you connect the rest of your computer system such as speakers, a printer, or a scanner. Unfortunately, one thing that can be annoying is the ganglia of cables that live behind the computer, but these cables are required to plug into the wall or console.

Online writing services offer help on Process Essay Now, remember the hardware is nothing unless it has software to control it. Because it is the main source that helps run the computer, the software is theains of the computer and tells the hardware what to do. The most important piece of software is the operating system. An operating system is a program that manages all application programs in the computer. For example, Windows 5, Windows 000, or possibly Windows XP is what makes up the software. These are just the computers basic operation, which enable to operate.

Next, lets get started on how to operate a computer with a few quick steps. Here are the basic steps, of which, you should turn on in a general order. First, you want to begin with your monitor, so it can warm up and be ready to display. Second, turn on any external devices you plan on using, such as the CD-ROM, scanner, or printer. The reason for this is so that the computer knows what devices you plan on using. Finally, the toughest part of turning the console on is finding the on/off switch button. The console will take about to 5 minutes to boot up, therefore, giving enough time to grab a bowl of cereal. After those simple steps are completely, then you are on your way into the operating system. Eventually, Windows will present itself ready for use on your desktop. What is seen on the screen is the desktop or the main screen, so if you see a colorful desktop with folders on top; then you are ready to use the computer for any reason. You can sign on to the Internet, work on your financial goals with certain software, or even play high-speed video games.

One of the greatest debates is how to shutdown the computer, and only if the computer can respond on what is the right way to do. Before turning off the computer improperly, there are a few steps to just flipping the power switch to off. On the lower left of the screen there is a button that would say "Start". Point the cursor on the Start button and click on it. In the Start menu, point the cursor to turn off computer and click on it. A dialog box will show up and give you four options. Those options are stand by, shut off, restart, and cancel After you have chosen shutdown, a message will appear saying, Its now safe to turn off your computer. Go ahead and turn off the console, monitor, printer, etc.

These are just basic steps on how to get started using your personal computer. Todays computers compared to when they first appeared have changed dramatically over the years. You can find almost any information that you need by connecting to the Internet with a modem, or being able to do homework assignments for classes or maybe business work.
