Order your Truth or Lies paper at affordable prices! Is college right for me and you? Thats the question that Caroline Bird is asking in her article in the Signature Magazine. The article suggest that all students, whenever they get out of high school, should not always go straight to college, because college is not for everybody. I will, without a shadow of a doubt, prove that college does not fail us as young people and that although college is not for everybody, they are for most people now of days.

The main argument against college is that the kids who go to college do not belong there. "Almost 50 percent of high school graduates are going to college," says Caroline. The more and more that high school graduates go to college, the more and more that certain people should not be there. More and more people are going to college just to party and have fun, not to go and study. This is what Caroline is trying to say college is not for everybody. She is right, college isnt for everybody. I agree with that. Lots of people come to college without even wanting to study, all they want to do is have fun away from home. Since I have been here, I have seen just that. But the thing that she does not realize is that most people who dont belong in college drop out or get kicked out the first semester they are there so it really does not matter. She gives many great arguments about how college does fail us as students and that people should think twice about coming to college.

When she say," college people do not just go to school so that they can make money, they want a job that means something to society." (65) That is true for about 10 percent of all students in college. Most people want to go into a field that they can make plenty of money in because when it really comes down to it, money makes the whole world go around. Seriously, if you love your job but you dont get paid hardly anything for it, although you might be happy in your job, it will give you other problems dealing with money because you do not have enough money to pay all your bills. The key is going into a field that you will enjoy working at and that you will be stable with the money part.

She states on page 66 that in the field of psychology, that over 58,000 people will get degrees in that field but only about 4,00 new jobs will be open for those people. That is true, but she fails to state the jobs of an athletic trainer which is the most demanding job out there right now. Basically the numbers are reversed from the other statement I just made. More people are wanting an athletic trainer than people are getting degrees for. In every statement she gives on page 66, its always the jobs that so many people are going for and not enough jobs for all these people. Another plus for college graduates is that most people look at us with a higher amount of respect if we actually go and finish college than if somebody only finishes high school. People know how hard it is to go through the many years it takes to finish college and the huge amount of stress that goes along with it. On page 68 she states that we know how to budget our time better, meet deadlines, set priorities, cope with authority, follow directions, and stick with a task without having direct supervision right on top of them all the time. That is real good for an employer because they believe they can count on us more often than not.

Another point she makes on page 6 is that college is really expensive. Most colleges and universities are anywhere from 10,000 a year up to 0,000 a year. I cant find any fault in that statement of hers because in my opinion, college is way to expensive. The education that we get might not be worth 0,000 dollars a year for four years. Thats over 10,000 dollars a year. What average can really afford that on top of everything else they have to pay for? Do not forget about the poorer people out there, they can barely afford their house and car payments and you want them to pay 0,000 a year for school? You cant really ask them to do that.

Caroline Bird says on page 70 that, " the biggest defense of college is that while it may not teach you anything vocationally, it somehow makes you a better person, able to do anything better, and those that make it through the precess are initiated into the fellowship of educated men and women." I agree with that statement to some extent. I have not finished college yet, so I really dont know the final outcome for me yet. I do know what people have told me and what I have read through other things, and it always to some point come out the same. No matter what you think about college, in the end when you wrap it all up, college is a real good experience for you when you grow up a lot and have to deal with a lot of things on your own.

Another point that Caroline makes against college is that no longer is the availability of the information limited now for the public, but now its the other way around. The public can now choose many different forms to take and learn about. In just one area now, there are about 0-0 different courses and times to where just about anybody can fit it in there schedule. She says on page 71 that you can find the information anywhere like in paperback, public liaries, museums, public lectures, adult-education classes, in aidge form, or adapted form in a magazine, film and television. So there is no excuse today to not get educated.

I think to wrap it up that Caroline Bird is a very thoughtful person and made some very good points to why college does not work for everybody. My thesis was to prove without a shadow of a dought that college was a very helpful tool for us to use. I proved my thesis but not totally. When it all comes down to it, it is up to the person themselves, if they are ready for college or not because if they are not they will fail, plain and simple.

Out staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Working and attending school, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Working and attending school paper at affordable prices! Do you work, attend school or both? Doing both may serve as a great experience for some people while for others it may be kind of difficult and frustrating. I currently find myself in the situation of performing both tasks and yes it does have its advantages and disadvantages.

To begin with attending school and having a job is quite an advantage because your mind is ongoing. You have to keep in mind that once you stop going to school it is much harder to concentrate afterwards. For instance, I would like to use myself as an example. I stopped attending school ten years ago and now that Im back I even forgot the basics. Im trying my best to remember but even the most simple things seem difficult to me because of that time I took off. Its much better when you continue school even if its one class just as long as it keeps the information fresh in your mind.

On the other hand, a great disadvantage there is for having a job while attending school is that there isnt enough time to accomplish a task or anything else. For instance, there isnt enough time to spend with the family. I as a married man, seldom get to see my wife and daughters. My wife demands so much of my time that sometimes one simple thing leads into a major argument. As a matter of fact, last weekend my wife and daughters left to Sea World on their own because I had to work and also had homework. I felt awfully bad since I wasnt able to accompany them. It is hard because although Im going to school to better my future as well as my familys, it sometimes frustrates me that I dont have enough time to be with them. I feel as if Im holding them back on everything they want to do. Another thing that I sometimes dont have time for is my homework. Between a job and school, I find it difficult to complete it. I try to do it as soon as I get out of work but by the time I get home all I think about is the bed. Id like to rest but then again if I take aeak itll just slow me down. As soon as I arrive home my daughters want to play with me or if not tell me about what happened to them that day. I of course dont interrupt and continue the conversation. Ill try to beief with them so that I can get started on my homework. I more or less start my homework like around eleven at night and usually finish at around three in the morning. This gives me less time to sleep and of course the following day Im tired and sleepy, and dont have mind to concentrate in school. Finally, what I dont have time for because of school is for my job. My manager is always on my case because he sometimes needs me at the store during the morning hours and Im unavailable due to that Im in school. Im afraid that one of these days hell let me go because of my conflicting schedule. If I do lose my job how will I support my family? Our economic situation depends on that income.

The other disadvantage of having a job while attending school is going through financial difficulties. One financial situation that I currently find myself in is buying necessary things for my daughters. My two little girls will be starting school soon and need money for school supplies and clothes. We barely make it with my salary so that means that I will only buy them the necessary items such as crayons, tablets, and pencils due to that with school I barely have time to work to make more money. Another reason why were always on a tight budget is because of our car. I usually fill it up with $6.00 of gas weekly. I also like to maintain it in good condition so that means that every three to five months Im taking it in to the mechanic so that I can get the oil changed and also to check on how its doing or if it needs anything else. Cheap writing services for Working and attending school papers In conclusion, although education is beneficial for everyone not everyone takes advantage of it. Moreover, every time I see someone in this situation I admire them and wonder how they manage their time.

Order your Green paper at affordable prices! Jealousy is usually associated with the color green. People often ask, "Are you green with envy or jealousy?" or they use the phrase, "Green-eyed monster" to describe someone that is jealous. In Othello, by William Shakespeare, Act III, Scene ,shows Iago telling Othello lies about Desdemona that made him jealous. But Cassio, Desdemona, and Emilia had no idea why Othello was so jealous. They just knew he had changed.

In Act III, Scene , Iago started to get more dishonest than he was in the beginning. Iago began to tell Othello lies about Cassio and Desdemona having a relationship. Cassio had no idea what was going; he just wanted his job back. Iago told him to go to Desdemona and ask her to persuade Othello to give him his job back, but this was all for Iagos evil plan to work.

Desdemona and Emilia knew that Othello was angry, but they blamed it on work being that neither of them did anything to make him angry, so they thought. Emilia had a feeling that he was jealous, but in Desdemonas eyes, there was no way her level-headed husband could be linked to

jealousy. But Emilia, being more modern, believes that someone might have put something in Othellos head that caused him to become jealous because according to her all men are capable of jealousy. Emilia says, "Men are like stomachs and we are the food." On the other hand, Desemona believes Othello doesnt have jealousy in him. Emilia says, "I will be hangd if some eternal villain, some busy and insinuating rouge, some cogging, cozening slave, to get some office…" believing that someone is putting ideas in Othellos mind to get a place in his military. Ironically, the "villain" is her husband, Iago.Othello believes everything that Iago says to him and he swears to Iago that he refuses to share Desdemona. Othello then takes matters into his own hands and tells Iago to take care of the man that Desdemona was cheating with while he takes care of her. Desdemona loves Othello just as much as Othello loves her, but Othello believes "honest Iago" over his wifes protests of innocence and kills her.

What Othello should have done was go to Cassio being that they were good friends before, and if he really loved Desdemona as much as he said he did, he should have spoken

to her also. Believing Iago was the wrong thing. Believing leads him to become overwhelmed with jealousy, which lead to the terrible tragedy of the killing of Desdemona and himself once he realized that he was tricked by his once good friend, all because of jealousy.

Dickens/Austen

Out staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Dickens/Austen, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Dickens/Austen paper at affordable prices! Dickens/ Austen Prompt

Jane Austen and Charles Dickens portray a marriage proposal in their novels which differ in rhetorical strategies. While Austen uses a more condescending and

non-intimate proposal, Dickens has a more humble and romantic approach to the proposal.

Austens proposal begins with the phrase that reflects the selfishness and arrogance of his entire proposal "My reasons." Throughout the proposal Austen lists the reasons why he should marry, rather than listing what he has to offer her. His first reason for matrimony is simply that a clergyman "like [him]self should marry in order to set the example." He later adds that his patroness declared that a "clergy man like [him] must marry." Apparently, Austen sets himself on a high horse because of his status as a clergyman. Austen blatantly states, "I am convinced that it will add to greatly to my happiness." No where in his proposal does Austen add that he willing joy to her life as well, proving that while Austen intends to win her hand in marriage, it is not likely that she is impressed by his choice of words. Further, Austen states, "and thirdly-which perhaps I should have mentioned earlier…"and right when the reader expects Austen to declare his undying love for the woman, he merely reveals that the main reason for his proposal is that his patroness convinced him to do so. Austens proposal is obviously impersonal and unaffectionate because Austen discloses that his proposal is not something that he necessarily wanted but rather something he and his patroness felt that he needed. When Austen adds that his patroness asked him to "chuse properly, chuse a gentlewoman for my sake; and for your own…fund such a woman as soon as you can,ing her to Hunsford, and I will visit her," Austen reveals that this woman will be evaluated under the criteria of his patroness. The only point at which Austen compliments the woman he is proposing to is when he states "your wit and vivacity I think must be acceptable to [my patroness]." It is almost as if he is recruiting someone for a job rather than proposing to a woman. Clearly, Austen uses a cocky marriage proposal without ever appealing to the womans emotions. Cheap essay writing services offer help on Dickens/Austen Charles Dickens, on the other hand, uses a humble and emotionally rich proposal to win the heart of the love of his life. The second sentence in his proposal is simply stated "I love you." These three words contain more meaning and value than Austens entire proposal, and Austen elaborates it by detailing the "tremendous attraction" he feels for her. He continues by describing the extent of his love for her by stating, "You could draw me to fire, you could draw me to water, you could draw me to the gallows, you could draw me to any death, you could draw me to anything I have most avoided…" The repetition of you could draw me and the hyperbolic ideas serve to emphasize Dickens vulnerability and passion; he would do anything for her love. At this point the woman is likely enthralled and weak at the knees; Dickens is achieving his purpose. Dickens further convinces the woman of his love for her by stating, "But if you would return a favourable answer to my offer of marriage, you could draw me to good-every good-with equal force." Dickens states that all he needs to be satisfied and content is for her to share her life with him and agree to his proposal. In addition, Dickens explains why he wants to marry her, as well as expresses what he has to offer her, indicating that the selflessness in his proposal. He tells her, "You would want for nothing" in order to convince her of his intentions to satisfy her and make certain that she is fulfilled in their marriage. Dickens also includes that his "reputation is quite high, and it will be a shield for [hers]." Obviously, Dickens is not merely self-interested, but wants her to know of the advantages to marrying him as well. He appeals to her emotions by stating that he longs for her to feel pride in his work, and that he will "try hard that [she] should." Evidently Dickens puts this woman, rather than himself, on a high horse; he strives to impress her and convince her that he has admirable characteristics. Dickens emphasizes his love for her once again by declaring that the makes the proposal "with all [his] heart." By the end of the proposal Dickens appears to plead, "I only add that if it is any claim on you to be in earnest, I am in thorough earnest, dreadful earnest." The repetition of the word earnest implies that Dickens hopes the woman will understand and respond positively to his sincere proposal. This closing sentence is meant to "seal the deal," or finalize her decision. Obviously, Dickens approach to the proposal of is far more touching and emotional than Austens manner of proposing.

Jane Austen unsentimental and cocky proposal and Charles Dickens passionate and selfless proposal differ enormously in their rhetorical strategies. While a woman who received Austens proposal would be offended and unsympathetic, a woman who received Dickens proposal would likely be crying tears of joy and bliss.

Out staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in organizational behavior, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your organizational behavior paper at affordable prices! Organizational Behavior

A definition of Operating Organizational Behavior has many characteristics, and can envelop many areas of an organization. From an individual point of view Organizational Behavior seems simple to understand, but if you examine it little closer, organizational behavior can be a little complicated. According to Robbins, Organizational Behavior, p. , can be defined as "behavior within an organization or as a field of study, which investigates the impact that individuals, groups and structure have on behavior within organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organizations effectiveness." In this paper, I will define operating Organizational behavior as it applies to me. With reference to organizational behavior, there are many important functions to consider when operating from a business standpoint, for example, people skills, open communication, training and ethics.

People Skills

As a manager people skills are very important. Lacking people skills can create serious problems among employees and management. I will give an example of the importance of having people skills. One of my companys directives includes selecting employees of diverse backgrounds and allowing them to interview collectively to facilitate in selecting prospective managers. I had the privilege of sitting in on one of the interviews for hiring a prospective top-level manager. We were allowed to ask any questions within guidelines. After careful consideration, a candidate was selected unanimously by the group because of his ability to interact with the group. The group was able to recognize his strengths as a leader with exceptional people skills. People simply want to know that managers can and will relate to their issues whether personal or professional and that managers are concerned about them. Cheap research paper on organizational behavior Open Communication

Open communication is the most important of all when defining operating organizational behavior. If there is no communication, the business cannot operate successfully and it will and can suffer. There can be many barriers andeakdowns, there is not a good outcome of this or shall I say the lack there of.

For example, one of lower level managers at my job receives information from the top-level manager to delegate the task down to an employee to complete. The manager keeps the information and tries to do it himself. After several attempts, he reluctantly admits to himself that he cannot complete the job, at which time he summons the help of the employee. The employee was asked to provide feedback on the subject, which he discovers that he is pressed for time. Simply stated, this could have been avoided by having open communication. As a result of poor management skills, it cost the company time and money because the deadline was not met and the contract was lost. With communication comes clarity. According to Sull, Harvard Management Update, it helps when you make the commitment to transform, you need to present a clear picture of what you want.

Training

Training employees is an essential component of a corporations success. A company success is only as prosperous as the persons running it can perform. Training can affect a corporations growth and profits. At my job, it is essential to have skills in certain areas, for example, being a test pilot, or electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineer, knowledge in computer science, or having knowledge in areas of electrical and technical fields. These areas are all important to the company, because of the nature of the business; therefore training is very important in operating organizational behavior. Training is one of the keys to profit gain in an organization.

Ethics

It is very important to maintain ethics throughout any history of a company. Ethics is the core of what a company should be founded on. Ethics says who you are, and what you symbolize or what amount of integrity that you are built on. Recently an major aircraft company lost a multi billion contract with the Air Force due to some unethical practices by top-level management. It cost the company not only the billions of dollars from the contract, but it cost the company millions more, due to mandatory training for employees on unethical behavior.

Conclusion

Organizational Behavior can be defined in many ways when operating a business. It depends on many factors; however, these are only a few elements, but these can be very effective in the use of operating within a corporation. Positive or negative changes within an organization can affect many people who are directly or indirectly involved in an organization. The key element is to choose leadership styles and techniques that are best suited for the situation and for the company. There are many elements for defining operating behavior in a business; however, people skills, open communication, training and ethics are some of the key elements to building a successful organization with limited behavioral problems.
