The first thing that Im going to be talking about is sexism as a form of prejudice in the book. The second thing that Im going to be talking about is racism as another form of prejudice in this story. The final thing that Im going to be talking about is prejudice against the level of social class standing in society. These are three points that Im going elaborate a lot on to get you to understand things about the book.

The first thing that Im going to be talking about is sexism as the first form of prejudice in this novel. Atticus is busy with his court case when Aunt Alexandra comes around. Aunt Alexandras only intension is to try and raise Scout like a lady. Aunt Alexandra doesnt like the way Atticus raises his children, especially Scout, whom he has tried to make her into becoming a lady when he doesnt really know how to be like a father and mother figure at the same time. Aunt Alexandra has a known idea of what all ladies should dress, eat, live, and act like. Aunt Alexandra thinks thats how all girls should be. She also thinks that Scout is to boyish and wants her to act like most girls her age do so that she will grow up to become a respectable lady. A quote from this scene is, "…it wont be many years, Jean Louise before you become interested in boys and clothes" This quote was when Aunt Alexandra was telling Scout about how that it wont be many years before she becomes interested in boys and clothes. This is how most girls and ladies in American society were supposed to act back in those days in the decade of the 10s. Girls were taught about the dress of the decade that was acceptable for all ladies. They were taught what kinds of foods that girls were supposed to be eating in the early 100s. They were taught how to live in the early 0th century. They were taught how to act in those early days of the 10s.

The next thing that Im going to be talking about is racism as another form of prejudice in the book, "To kill A Mockingbird." "I wants to know why youingin white chillun to nigger church." Lula says this when Calpurnia takes Scout and Jem to her church. She doesnt want white children or any white people to come to the black church. This just goes to show how black people felt about white people in the decade of the 10s. Its like if a white person went and used black peoples restroom facilities instead of there own. It just shows that people were allowed to be some places and were prohibited to be other places because of their color in the 10s.

The last thing that Im going to be talking about is prejudice against social classes in the book, " To Kill A Mockingbird. "Are we as poor as the Cunninghams?" Scout says this when Mr. Cunningham comes to pay Atticus with turnips. It shows us how some people can judge wealth against other families, the Cunninghams are known to be very poor. They lost all the wealth they had from the Great Depression. They were all farmers. These made people judge others by their social class level in society. I discussed prejudice in the book because it was found just about everywhere in the book. I discussed sexism because of the reason that Scout was told by Aunt Alexandra that shed start liking clothes and boys very soon. This is how most girls were taught to act back then. I talked about racism because of when Calpurniaought Jem and Scout to the church and Lula was being racist to them because the children have their own church that was a white one. People acted the same way to one another a long time ago. I said something about prejudice against social classes because of the time when Scout asked Atticus if they were as poor as the Cunninghams. The Cunninghams were like many other farmers that lost everything from the Great Depression. These things are what made people because of prejudice against others of that time. It made almost all people judge a person or a group of people before they actually knew them.
